Combustor Analysis Tool

Balance energy across the burner to get temperature rise and fuel–air ratio.

Build a combustor model: from an energy balance across the burner, compute the fuel-air ratio needed for a target turbine-inlet temperature, and the adiabatic flame temperature.

Objective

Write fuel_air_ratio(T_in, T_out, LHV, cp) from an energy balance, and compute the turbine-inlet temperature for a given fuel flow. Validate that f increases with the target temperature.

Deliverables
  • •fuel_air_ratio() + a TIT calculator.
  • •A short table of f vs T_out.
Stretch goals
  • •Add combustion efficiency and pressure loss.
  • •Sweep equivalence ratio and flag rich/lean limits.
